In compliance with United States federal securities laws, Sibanye Gold Limited (“Sibanye”) files an Annual Report on Form 20-F (“Form 20-F”) with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (the “SEC”).
Please note that the financial statements included in the Form 20-F for the year ended 31 December 2013 and for preceding years as filed with the SEC were prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (“US GAAP”). Sibanye’s primary financial statements included in the annual reports and interim results that are [mailed to shareholders and] provided on Sibanye’s website are prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) as issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (“IASB”).
Sibanye has prepared the annual audited consolidated financial statements contained in the annual report on Form 20-F for the year ended 31 December 2014 in accordance with IFRS as issued by the IASB.
US GAAP differs in certain material respects from IFRS. Accordingly, the US GAAP financial information provided in the Form 20-F for the year ended 31 December 2013 and for preceding years as filed with the SEC, may differ in certain material respects from the IFRS financial information provided in Sibanye’s annual reports and interim results and the Form 20-F for the year ended 31 December 2014 and on Sibanye’s website.
